                 FOOT IN THE MOUTH

   Once upon a time a sagacious purblind man lived in a town.Though he was blind,yet he would always tote a lighted lantern in his hand whenever he stepped out of his dwelling at night unmindful of the innuendoes the onlookers would hurl at him.

 One dark night he was passing through a road with a lighted lamp in his hand.As it so happened,a bevy of boisterous damsels were passing that way.Seeing the blind man with a lighted lamp in his hand,they burst out into peals of laughters.

  One of the girls mockingly trilled,"O blind man,why are you schlapping a lighted lamp when you are visionless?What difference does it make to you?"

  The man retorted politely,"It is not for me.It is for you people who have as big eyes as of an ox,to see that a blind man is trudging this way and do not collide with him and push him."

 The girls were ashamed for their foot in the mouth remark. They apologized to the man.
