           THE NARCISSISTIC CROW
         ***************************
Once upon a time there lived a crow in a jungle. He was a narcissistic and very grabby crow. One day he happened to see a silk larch in full bloom. Its large, bright and red flowers dazzled in the sun.

"Ah, what beautiful flowers!"cawed the crow,"The fruit of this tree must be very scrumptious.I must reserve this tree for myself only."
He perched himself on one of the branches and yowled,"Hark, all you birds, this tree is mine and none should dare come near it."
He kept a watch over that larch and would shoo away any bird that fluttered near it.Soon the news of the crow and the silk tree spread all over the forest. All the birds avoided flying near the tree.
He was greatly tempted by the bright red flowers. He would eye the flowers greedily and hone his neb on the branches, waiting for the day when he would relish the fruit.
As the days grew hotter, the fruit ripened and at last a few pods sprouted up one fine day.Jitterbugging with sheer joy,the crow pecked at a ripened pod. His mouth was at once filled with parched and fluffy stuff.
"Ouch!"blubbered the crow and expectorated it out tout de suite. He tried again. To his great dolor and shock. he was nearly choked with the same white stuff. It was semul cotton!Little did the poor creature realise what had been in store for him !
Thirsty and peckish, the hapless crow fluttered to another tree to cull a few berries. But the other birds, tout de suite, assaulted him with wrath, pecking him all over. They hollered,"He is a selfish crow.We won't share our berries as he did not allow us to share the fruit of his tree."
The narcissistic crow had to vamoose to his tree, watching sadly the dry cotton fluttering from the pods and floating away in the air.
